Pit Design
Hey y'all! I still haven't recieved much input on what to do for the Pit this year, so I'm putting up a topic here in the forum to gather ideas. And here you are! Please post any thoughts you have on pit design here so I can see them and take them into consideration. Thanks for the help!
I mentioned the big tent, or marquee if that's how you spell it. We should really get one like Blue Twilight at their mini regional. Since we are going to 3 competitions this year, it's important for our team to be visible. Also, I'm going to make some PowerPoint presentation to show to the judges while I talk to them about the different areas of our team at competition. It would be nice if we had some sort of stand set up for that, and also we could play some videos while we aren't running the PowerPoint. We can use my mom's laptop for that.
Don't forget that there is a 10 foot height limit if we go with the tent idea. Not trying to complicate this too much, but some teams have a crate that becomes workspace and supporting walls in their pit. A better way to organize the tools is always on the wish list.
I'm going to second the call for a more better way to organize our tools. Also, a coat hanger system would be nice. I know we can all throw our coats in the stands but for some people, they don't make it up there for quite a while. And maybe some sort of easily accessible system to organize our batteries and chargers? They are always in a tangled mess, and it would be nice to have the ability to change batteries quickly especially if we're in the finals.
I don't really know much about how the pits are set up but one of the other teams at MN Splash suggested using pegboard to hang all of the tools up so they could be found more easily. I though that sounded like a good way to help organize the pit but it would depend on how willing people were to actually use it.
