Coming to Eagan High School: The address for Eagan High School is 4185 Braddock Trail, Eagan MN 55123.   Come to EAST facing doors of Eagan High School.

There is a section wrestling match going on Friday evening so you will notice a lot of cars in the lot.  We will guide you to a set of doors behind our lunchroom for easy loading.  You can park in smaller lot adjacent to the football field on the north end of this parking lot.  This lot is very close to the lunchroom.

Friday Night:  We will open our doors on Friday at 6:30 pm for the optional robot load-in/pit setup and team social.  We would welcome any help assembling the practice field at this time.  For the social - please bring snacks to share.  Team 2220 will provide beverages.  Team feel free to bring any games or fun activities to share.  Please let me know if you will be attending Friday evening!

PIT Areas - We will be assigning your team to a pit area.  Our goal is to connect each rookie team with a veteran team and have them pit next to each other for support.  If you already have established a mentoring relationship with a rookie team please let me know so we can pit you next to them.  We will do the best we can to provide power to your pits but with so many teams attending I am afraid we will blow circuits.  Please keep power use to a minimum.  Please bring extension cords and power strips as well.

Safety Glasses:  Bring as many safety glasses as you can and mark them.  2220 is asking for donations of safety glasses that can be handed out to visitors.

Saturday:

  • We will have team members/parents at our east entrance to great your team and give you directions for load-in, locations and any other information you need.
  • We will open our doors at 8:00 am.
  • We will hold an informal workshop for mentors of rookie teams beginning at 8:30 am.
  • The field will be available from 8:00 am - 9:30 am for teams to test their robots.
  • We will hold a drivers meeting on the field at 9:30 am and then begin practice rounds at 10:00 am.
  • The sign-up for the practice rounds will be dynamic.  The people running our scoring table will have a simple spreadsheet of the match schedule that will be projected on a large screen in our lunchroom.  Teams are welcome to sign themselves up for practice sessions on Saturday morning when they arrive.  Team can adjust their practice round booking as the day progresses.  If you know your robot can not run for a round you signed up for, please let the scoring table know.  The goal of this event is to run as many practice rounds as possible until 6:00 pm.
  • The EHS Team will have a roving band of students/mentors who are good at programming and building available to help any team in need.  Just ask!
  •
  • Awards:  Our team will be providing some team awards at the end of the event.  (ex. Team Spirit Award, Coopetition Award, etc.)

Concession Stand:  Hosting this event cost our team over $1000.00.  I was encouraged to charge for this event but thought the better of it as hosting events like these are what we as FIRST teams are suppose to do.  We are asking attending teams to generously support this effort by utilizing a concession stand we will have set up at the event.  We hope to help offset at least some of our costs through this concession stand.
