Wait, it's Tuesday? What happened to the weekend?
I kind of forgot to blog about Saturday. Oopsies.
Um, wow. That was my last FIRST competition ever. I'll either have to visit next year or fail all my classes and stay in high school an extra year so I can be on the Green Machine again.
Anyway, the matches themselves didn't go exactly spectacularly. We lost both of them, but we did have tough opponents and considering our situation I'd say we did pretty well. We found out that one of our wheels was completely bent which was why we were having some troubles driving and would explain why chains seem to enjoy throwing themselves off the robot so often. But even with a gimpy wheel we were doing pretty well and scored quite a bit. As a programmer I am very proud to say that we have finally scored during autonomous, even though we were running the wrong autonomous code and the fact that we scored probably had a bit more to do with quantum randomness than actual skill. But hey, I'm not complaining.
So we didn't get picked as an alliance partner for the elimination matches, which was saddening but understandable, as there were a lot of really good robots in the Galileo division, and the elimination matches were fun to watch.
I still can't really believe that I'm pretty much done with FIRST as a student now. Actually, I'm sure I'll have other FIRST-related stuff to do (like blogging!) until I actually graduate, so it's not quite over yet. I will not be rid of that easily, muahaha. :3
