So we got our annual game challenge! And it is... a bit confusing, but definitely exciting :) It's also impossible to explain without drawings or hand gestures, soooo either youtube "FIRST Robotics breakaway" or check out the website. Basically think soccer plus pull-ups. Sounds like gym class... Yeck. One thing's for sure; this game is going to be lots of fun to watch. Unless all the robots manage to fall over when trying to get over the bumps and can't get back up.

I'm just super sad because being the genius I am I went and scheduled a college interview during kickoff, so I didn't get to go see the broadcast, which was quite disappointing since this will be my last kickoff ever... -sniff- Ohwells. Life goes on. And part of it is on youtube anyway, so it's all good.

Currently we're having our brainstorming session (we're on dinner break now), and so we're coming up with lots of good ideas. There's really a lot of different things we can do with this game, and strategy's going to be a huge deal this year, so there's a lot to go over within the next few days.

New thing we're doing this year is having 9th graders currently on FTC joining in for both the brainstorming as well as the 6-week build season. Since Green Machine is only for 10-12th graders and we're losing over half the team after this year because there's a ridiculously large amount of seniors on the team, we decided it would be very beneficial to have current 9th graders interested in officially joining the team next year get introduced to the team so next year they'll have a head start and won't be confused during the first few weeks of build season. So there's a bunch of younglings here observing all the action, which is exciting for them.

The one thing that still bothers me is that I still don't get what the first game hint was... Actually I don't get the second game hint either... Hmph. Ah well, it probably wasn't very helpful anyway.

Well, that's all I have for now. Off to go brainstorm and eat pizza :D
