Team 1816 recently adopted Braemar Park in Edina as part of the city’s Adopt-A-Park program.

The wearing of the green t-shirts continues to inspire a number of ‘going green’ activities by The Green Machine. Team 1816 recently adopted Braemar Park in Edina as part of the city’s Adopt-A-Park program.  During this two-year commitment, the team will clean up the park twice a year, especially taking care of the areas around the baseball and soccer fields and playgrounds. Team members are planning the first clean up day on November 1. The City of Edina encourages groups and individuals to adopt one of its neighborhood parks.

At the end of August a group of Team 1816 members worked on cleaning up trash and weeding on the Midtown Greenway, Minneapolis.

At the end of August a group of Team 1816 members worked on cleaning up trash and weeding on the Midtown Greenway, Minneapolis. This is part of ongoing efforts by the Midtown Greenway Coalition to clean up and encourage the community to make this former railway corridor a safe and greener biking/walking pathway. These “Weeding Wednesdays” were scheduled by Tree Trust, St. Paul, MN.

The team also helped Calvary Lutheran Church plant additional trees on its property this summer. Team 1816 thanks the church and its leadership for welcoming us by providing meeting space during our build and post-season celebration.
