Mr. McGoff’s advice to students is, “Don’t take life too seriously. Sometimes something you think is the end of the world turns out to be the best thing that happened to you. I received my math degree in 1980 during a recession, so nobody was hiring and I was pretty down on myself. I went back to college and received my Mechanical Engineering degree, which turned out great. It stunk at the time-but it was great later on.”
